Villa Damai

Villa Damai (damai means peace) is an elegant modern 5 bedroom luxurious villa at the end of a paved lane in the leafy village of Kuwum, Kerobokan where the writer lives.

Four of the well appointed guest suites are upstairs on the first floor & are reached by almost floating stairs. All bedrooms are air-conditioned & have en-suite bathrooms. The Guest Suite is located on the ground floor – a beautiful, airy double bedroom overlooking the front garden, with full-length curtains, a small terrace…& perfect for those who find stairs a challenge.

The upstairs Master suite is a dream for couples with a beautifully decorated king-sized bed, a private balcony with a wooden bath-tub, a dressing room and an indoor/outdoor bathroom. It overlooks the large back garden which is romantically lit by night. It also connects to the spacious twin bedroom, Salome, which overlooks the front garden and has its own entrance, en-suite bathroom and dressing area.

Also overlooking the back garden, another king-sized suite, Sasha’s, is complete with a mosquito net, seating area, a spacious wardrobe with a desk and a stunning ensuite bathroom. At the front of the villa, Thomas is another king-sized suite is surrounded by windows with views of the mature trees in the front garden. It also features a beautiful custom-made bamboo credenza, private en-suite bathroom and dressing area.

There is a private 22 metre lap pool with pool loungers & it is surrounded by manicured lawns & the standard tropical garden! Also, there is a magnificent tree at the far end of the pool that is adjacent to the rice fields.

The Dining room (seats 10) is adjacent to the very well equipped & designed kitchen which has just about every appliance known to modern man – 4 burner cook top, oven, fridge, freezer, coffee machine, wine cooler & so on. There is also an island with 3 stools.

The Living room is is next to the dining area & overlooks the pool. There is also a Family room with a regulation size pool table, an upright  piano & work station. Then there is the spacious air-conditioned Entertainment room with an overhead movie projector, Sonos sound system, books, games and guest bathroom.

Open spaces and glass allow nature to play a part in the beauty of this villa. The entrance through a bamboo gate leads into the beautiful mature garden at the front of the property and flows through to the back of the house. Glass skylights and soaring ceilings add to the luxurious sense of space. Villa Damai features creamy natural stone exteriors surrounded by stunning gardens at the front and back of the property. Natural elements and luxurious textiles have combined to create a villa that is gentle on the eye and beautiful in its execution.

GENERAL
Having lived in Kuwum village for 15 years Villa Damai is ideally located within easy reach of Bali’s famous beaches, loads of the island’s best restaurants, with easy access to Canggu in one direction and Legian + Seminyak in the other. The area is a very pleasant mix of private homes, villas & the local Balinese. Quiet & peaceful. Highly recommended!
